英語中的可數(shù)名詞都有其復(fù)數(shù)形式，雖然大部分名詞的復(fù)數(shù)形式的意義和單數(shù)形式并沒有多大區(qū)別，但是有那么一部分名詞它們的復(fù)數(shù)形式的意義和單數(shù)是有區(qū)別的，所以看完這篇文章以后，大家不能隨便用這些名詞復(fù)數(shù)了哦。
1. advice 勸告
雖然它是不可數(shù)名詞，但是其復(fù)數(shù)形式為advices時(shí)意義并不是\”勸告\”，而是\”消息，報(bào)道\”。
例句：
They argued that I should take his advice.
他們爭(zhēng)論說我該接受他的建議。
They want of fresh advices from Europe.
缺少來自歐洲的新消息。
2. arm 手臂
其復(fù)數(shù)形式是arms，意思是\”武器\”，當(dāng)然也可是是\”手臂\”的復(fù)數(shù)形式。
例句：
If I hold it for an hour, I will have an ache in my right arm.
如果我拿著它一個(gè)小時(shí)，我的右臂就會(huì)疼。
They have a history of arms smuggling and deadly terror.
他們有武器走私和致命恐怖事件的歷史。
3. brain 大腦，腦袋
這個(gè)名詞的復(fù)數(shù)形式為brains，意思是\”智力，腦髓\”，當(dāng)然也可以指\”大腦\”。
例句：
Can your brain absorb all this information?
你的腦袋能吸收這全部信息嗎？
You know why they say we only use 10 percent of our brains?
你知道為什么人們說我們只使用了10%的智力嗎？
4. cloth 布料
作為\”布料\”講，這個(gè)單詞本身是沒有復(fù)數(shù)形式的。但是\”clothes\”這個(gè)復(fù)數(shù)形式的意思是\”衣服\”。
例句：
She likes to piece one cloth to another when she does some sewing.
當(dāng)她做針線活時(shí)，她喜歡把一塊布拼湊到另一塊上。
Some people are always with you like your clothes, but they do not understand you.
有些人，雖然像衣服一樣時(shí)常在你的身邊，但卻永遠(yuǎn)不能了解你的心。
5. custom 風(fēng)俗
它的復(fù)數(shù)形式是customs，意思是\”海關(guān)\”，也可以是\”風(fēng)俗\”的復(fù)數(shù)。
例句：
She disliked the custom of greeting everyone with a smile.
她不喜歡微笑著和每個(gè)人打招呼這一風(fēng)俗。
Do you have anything to declare for customs?
你過海關(guān)有什么要申報(bào)的嗎？
6. force 力量
它的復(fù)數(shù)形式是forces，意思是\”軍隊(duì)，勢(shì)力，武裝力量\”。
例句:
If you support me, your choice will be an infinite force.
如果你支持我，你的選擇將會(huì)是無限的力量！
There are difficulties before the reactionary forces as well as before us.
在反動(dòng)勢(shì)力和我們面前都有困難。
7. glass 玻璃
它的復(fù)數(shù)形式是glasses，意思是\”眼鏡\”，而不是\”玻璃\”。
例句：
I have a quartz heart, but they thought that it is glass.
我有一顆水晶般的心，可是他們都認(rèn)為它是玻璃。
Do you know the one that wears glasses?
你認(rèn)識(shí)戴眼鏡的那個(gè)人嗎？
8. good 好處，善行
它的復(fù)數(shù)形式是goods，意思是\”商品，貨物\”。
例句：
What good did they give to you?
他們給了你們什么好處？
What are the expenses of these goods?
這些商品的費(fèi)用是多少？
9. manner 方式，習(xí)慣
它的復(fù)數(shù)形式是manners，意思是\”禮貌\”。
例句：
What I like best is her speaking manner.
我最喜歡的是她的說話方式。
Good manners can make it easier for us to converse with others.
有禮貌可以使我們與他人交談變得更容易。
10. paper 紙張，論文
它的復(fù)數(shù)形式是papers，意思是\”文章，文件\”。
例句：
We can all do simple sums on paper.
我們都能在紙上做簡(jiǎn)單的加法。
He worked so carefully that his paper had no mistakes at all.
他工作非常認(rèn)真，所以他的論文沒有一點(diǎn)錯(cuò)誤。
All you have to do is sign the papers.
你必須做的全部都是在文件上簽字。
11. regard 尊重
它的復(fù)數(shù)形式是regards，意思是\”問候\”。
例句：
I have a high regard for him as a coach, because he is very precise in his job.
作為教練，我對(duì)他非常尊重，因?yàn)樗麑?duì)他的工作總是要求很高。
I send my best regards to you and your family.
我向你和你的家人致以最好的問候。
12. spirit 精神
它的復(fù)數(shù)形式是spirits，意思是\”情緒，態(tài)度\”。
例句：
Any infringement of this spirit should be avoided.
應(yīng)當(dāng)避免任何侵犯這種精神的行為。
Her spirits remained up in spite of her disappointment.
盡管她很失望，但她的情緒依然高昂。
