Method
“Method” 指 “既定的、系統(tǒng)化的步驟、程序”。比如：研究方法 research method；cooking method 烹飪步驟；或者教學(xué)方法 teaching method 等等。
According to Confucius, the best teaching method is to make sure instructions are suitable for the student\’s abilities. 孔子認(rèn)為最好的教學(xué)方法是因材施教。
Means
“Means” 和剛剛講過的兩個單詞 “way” 和 “method” 不同的是，“means” 強(qiáng)調(diào) “為了達(dá)到特定的目標(biāo)而使用的工具、方式或者手段”。
名詞 “means” 通常與介詞 “by” 搭配使用。比如，“by means of” 表示 “通過使用…的手段”。
The company has survived the recession by means of layoffs.這家公司通過裁員成功地躲避了這次經(jīng)濟(jì)衰退所帶來的影響。
注意，“means” 的單復(fù)數(shù)形式相同。
